Just when I started judging myself harshly about not getting back into my work life ‘fast enough’, I went and had a weekend of groundbreaking creativity. Today I’m going to share with you the new business cards we created for David of CawfeeGuy Knits whose artistry you saw on the blog Monday modeled by the spawn. He’s been a sporadic regular here at Tripping on Asphalt, and as the cool weather and holiday season approaches, you should definitely shake some dollars at his Etsy shop (link above). You won’t be sorry.
These fab little cards are half sized, and are one of the many excellent products offered over at Moo. It’s a great place for small business marketing materials, and my experience with their customer service department has been stellar. There’s a banner to the left, and if you order through that banner I get a little thank you.
Right now I’m slooowly juggling motherhood along with several, major, on-going projects that will all show up here eventually. I am fortunate not only to be able to take time with my son (omgosh, I have a son!), but I’m also a little surprised and incredibly blessed to be enjoying it so much. I’ve worked hard the last few years to be able to cherish this time with him, and yet, I often have to remind myself I’m not ‘supposed’ to be doing something else, like working a 9 to 5… or a 7 to 6.
We could have a whole dialog about the state of maternity leave in this nation, but that would just make me tired. I was fully aware that employers and business associates too often discount pregnant women and (new) moms. That was definitely a compelling reason for me to live life as an entrepreneur. What amazes me though, is how quickly we women are to be hard on ourselves, based on the standards and judgements of others. I’d like to find a way to truly support moms find that optimal work/life balance. A balance that clearly should be different for everyone.
Time is flying and the last several months have been a blur. I truly want to thank all of you who are here, still reading and supporting me. I will be spending a lot more time here and I am eager to rekindle our dialog.
Here’s a wee bit of cuteness and warmth from all of us at Sequined Asphault Studio and CawfeeGuy Knits to help you get through your chilly, fall Monday.
Life as a new Mom has taken the business in exciting directions that I’m excited to share with you. We’ve got some great fall marketing coming to you for our friend, CawfeeGuy, who is busy knitting for you as we speak. You need something fabulous and warm to wear as you wait for the bus, or something wonderful for a loved one to unwrap this holiday season.
CawfeeGuy’s Etsy site includes some great ready to wear accessories. Or you can stalk CawfeeGuy Knits on Facebook until you’re ready to exercise your PayPal account. Hat, gloves and blanket above are all courtesy of CawfeeGuy. Baby (not for sale) by LaLa and Dug.
In other exciting news, my very own Sequined Asphault Studio shop, showcasing my Abandoned project, is almost ready to open! I’ll be doing some giveaways here on the Blog and through Facebook in the month of November, so keep an eye out. Feel free to message me or leave a comment if you’d like a special email when the shop opens.
Stay warm xoxo
I am incredibly proud and pleased to present to you my new and updated Sequined Asphault Studio Architectural Photography web site and portfolio! I’d be honored for you to take time out for a peek. And even more thrilled if you can share it around. Email it, or better yet, use one of the social sharing buttons below. You can always access my site from here on the blog by clicking the banner you see highlighted by the famous Baby Madeline point above. Thanks so much for all of your encouragement and support.
Since we’ve just gone live, there may be some kinks. I’d be grateful to hear if you find anything trippy while you are taking a tour. Misspellings, duplicate photos, anything that doesn’t feel right to you. I’ll be elbow deep in the web site’s search engine optimization for the next week, and then I’ll be able to switch my other domains over to the new site. Soon there will be some great functionality for you Clients out there, including a lightbox for viewing proofs and a new digital delivery system.
And a bit further on the horizon, I’ll be offering fine art prints for sale.
We’ve got some exciting new features planned right over here at this very blog, Tripping on Asphalt, during the next couple of months, so I hope you stick around and enjoy. And tell your friends! We love comments and visitors.
And a special thanks to our beautiful niece, The Baby Madeline, who turned 2 this week. The photos above are from our shoot with her at 1 year, and at 6 months respectively.
Is that the interweb equivalent to unpacking the last box? Because I still have yet to accomplish that feat in the non-virtual universe, so chances are I haven’t done it here either.
